Materials Analyst/Sample Prep Technician

Nanolab Technologies, a Eurofins Materials Science company, is looking for an individual to be responsible for processing/imaging STEM/TEM samples using FEI 4xx/Helios Dual Bean FIB tools and TEM sample preparation of lamella. The work environment is fast-paced with firm deadlines. The successful candidate will work as a part of a team and be expected to rapidly gain a working knowledge of many analytical techniques Bachelor’s degree in relevant engineering physical science discipline or at least 2 years of focused experience in dual beam FIB and SEM operation, experience with TEM sample preparation is highly desirable. Solid understanding of electron microscopy, semiconductor device physics and failure analysis (through previous work experience or course work); Knowledge and recent hands-on experience with TEM sample preparation is a plus.

Instrument Service Engineer

EAG Laboratories is looking for an Instrument Service Engineer to be responsible for maintaining analytical instruments and ancillary equipment. The position will primarily support the instruments in the Sunnyvale lab with periodic travel to other EAG laboratories to include Minneapolis, Shanghai, Taiwan, Sunnyvale, El Segundo and occasional travel to other sites.

The individual should have a BE/BS in physics, electronics or electrical engineering and 3-5 years of experience trouble shooting and repairing high voltage circuitry, high vacuum systems, analog/digital circuitry, electro-mechanical assemblies, and related systems.  Experience with Cameca and Physical Electronics systems a plus.

Must be highly skilled in proper use of tools of trade, able to operate independently and as part of team, provide and follow written and verbal instructions, effectively utilize multiple forms of communication (e-mail, phone, etc.), and maintain a professional and cordial manner towards co-workers, vendors, and customers throughout the daily execution of duties.

Laboratory Analyst

EAG is looking for a Laboratory Analyst to work in the Materials Characterization group, in Sunnyvale, CA, who will obtain and report the results of analyses to internal and external clients. The Analyst will be responsible for sample handling, sample preparation, performing analyses, processing data, report writing and customer service. The ideal candidate will be required to report results of findings to internal and external clients and will work in a diverse, team oriented environment. To be successful in the position, the individual will be expected to work independently on a variety of assigned tasks with a range of future deadlines. This position will be in the surface analysis, organic analyses and materials properties group so some familiarity and hands-on experience with techniques such as AFM, Profilometry, FTIR, GCMS, XRF, XPS would highly advantageous.  Ideal candidate to have a B.S. or M.S. in Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science or a related field, with 1+ years of professional work experience in a relevant technology focused industry; experience in some of the following techniques is highly desirable: AFM, Profilometry, FTIR, GCMS, XRF, XPS and in conducting chemical analyses in a controlled lab environment

XPS Scientist

EAG Laboratories is looking for a Scientist who will work in the Surface Science group and be responsible for operating analytical XPS/ESCA instrumentation (X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy/ Electron Spectroscopy for Chemical Analysis). This position requires a solid technical foundation in materials science and/or analytical chemistry. Duties include, but are not limited to, loading and running XPS instruments, processing data, writing reports, communicating and meeting with customers, conducting supervised R&D, and basic instrument maintenance activities. Developing analytical protocols, interpreting spectra, writing reports and communicating information with clients.

Ideal candidate will have a MS or PhD degree in Chemistry with experience interpreting XPS analytical data. Knowledge/experience in other surface analysis techniques is a strong plus, e.g. TOF-SIMS, Auger Electron Spectroscopy.
