Welcoming Two Ph.D. Scientists
CHEMIR welcomes Fengzhi Tang, Ph.D. and Selina Wireduaah Banafoe, Ph.D. as valuable additions to CHEMIR’s expanding scientific staff. They join our team of analytical chemists dedicated to solving difficult problems and supporting R&D efforts for many industries, including pharmaceuticals, plastics, chemicals, coatings, medical device, food, packaging and more.
Dr. Tang earned his Ph.D. in Chemistry from Washington University in St. Louis. He specializes in inorganic/organic synthesis, ligand design, inorganic complexes preparation, experimental optimization, and characterization of inorganic/organometallic complexes. His instrumentation expertise includes NMR, FTIR, CV, UV-Vis, EPR, ESI-MS and GC-MS.
Dr. Wireduaah Banafoe attended Saint Louis University, earning a Ph.D. in Chemistry. She has conducted studies into understanding and predicting cation-pi binding through computational, synthesis and chromatography analysis. Dr. Wireduaah Banafoe has extensive analytical instrumentation experience including HPLC, GC-MS, LC-MS, FTIR and NMR.
“Both scientists offer research experience and academic excellence. We are thrilled to be adding these two new team members to our lab” says Dr. Albert Lee, Director, CHEMIR. The independent analytical laboratory provides chemical analysis, deformulation, contaminant identification, failure analysis, custom synthesis, formulation development and litigation support.
