Demand Drives Growth and Expansion of Capabilities
Columbia, Missouri – 04/28/15 ABC is pleased to announce a physical capacity expansion and significant enhancements to its environmental fate and metabolism offerings. A facility build-out at ABC’s Discovery Ridge location includes over 7,000 square feet of additional laboratory and office space, 6,300 cubic feet of state-of-the art walk-in environmental chambers, and new capabilities include the addition of high resolution mass spectrometry to its arsenal of analytical instrumentation.
The new Q Exactive™ Plus Hybrid Quadrupole-Orbitrap is already in place and is undergoing validation. With this instrument, ABC metabolism experts are able to identify and quantify metabolites and degradants faster and with greater certainty than ever before. Also a new AB Sciex QTRAP® 6500 LC/MS/MS system has been added for increased resolution and sensitivity. In addition this area employs a TOF, Ion Trap MS, Capillary Electrophoresis, two 4000 LC/MS/MS instruments and seven UPLCs.
Nation’s Largest Residue Chemistry Offering
An additional 5,000 square feet of laboratory footprint at our ABC Lane campus will be available for our growing residue chemistry group. Since this time last year, ABC has increased its sample processing and residue chemistry staff by over 40%–arguably making it the largest contract residue chemistry program in the nation. Our mass spec arsenal now includes four AB Sciex QTRAP® 6500 LC/MS/MS systems, three AB Sciex QTRAP® 5500 LC/MS/MS systems, three 5000 models and two 4000 models.
Protein Expression Services
ABC’s continues to advance protein expertise and capabilities, with recent investments in advanced mass spectroscopy platform and a Protein Simple® Wes™ system, an alternative to ELISA that utilizes an automated, quantitative capillary electrophoresis-based Western technique for complex protein analysis. Other recent, high-impact investments include an iCAP™ Q ICP-MS that delivers unparalleled speed, precision and sensitivity in trace analyses for metals.
