Instrument/Maintenance
Our Instrument/Maintenance Engineers are responsible for the repair and maintenance of EAG’s analytical instruments and ancillary equipment. Our engineers troubleshoot and maintain numerous instruments. Some examples of the instruments they use day to day are process water chillers, battery back-up systems, vacuum pumps, ovens, coaters, purge boxes, mass spectrometers, etc.
Failure Analysis
Our Failure Analysis Engineers are responsible for evaluating the electrical and mechanical characteristics of systems and/or integrated circuits, components, sub-components to determine the cause of failure, including the verification of analog and digital performance. Some examples of the type of investigations our FA engineers do are identifying a semiconductor fabrication defect and isolating and identifying the exact root cause of a product failure in the field.

Reliability
The Reliability Application Engineers at EAG has the critical role of running reliability tests on state-of-the-art microelectronic products to understand the fundamental wear out mechanisms, detect design marginality combined with parameter drift, and determine failure rates and interfacing directly with clients to define scope of work, develop technical requirements and programs, debug and resolve issues, and communicate schedule and status. These reliability testing techniques include High Temperature Operating Life Test (HTOL), thermal shock, preconditioning, temperature humidity bias, Highly Accelerated Temperature and Humidity Stress Test (HAST), and more.

PCB Layout
The PCB Layout engineers are responsible for the design and layout of PCB burn-in and ATE Boards. Day to Day our engineers develop PCB layouts, perform component placements and determine wire routings- taking design inputs provided by the customer (PDF and Excel) and creating the schematic and layout design files (Orcad and Allegro) to enable the customer to complete the necessary stress or tests on their device. Lastly, these engineers are proficient with Cadence (Allegro, OrCAD), in creating PCB layout for Burn-in boards for HTOL, HAST and MCC platforms and ATE load boards.

ATE Testing
Daily our ATE Testing Engineers provide sustaining support to the test floor to ensure our products are properly being tested for production, engineering samples, engineering experiments, read points, and customer-related requests. These engineers work with ATE Vendors, the IT department, and customer engineering teams to ensure the full life cycle of the product is completed. These engineers are responsible for setting up and debugging probers (Opus probers, TSK probers) and setting up and debugging handler issues (Seiko Epson and others).

Advanced Microscopy
Advanced microscopy techniques such as SEM (Scanning Electron Microscopy), TEM (Transmission Electron Microscopy) and Dual Beam SEM are essential techniques used to investigate sample microstructure, morphology, particle size, particle coatings and defects. Clients range from Semiconductor manufactures, battery, consumer products.

Analysts and Scientists in our battery testing lab use a wide variety of analytical techniques and expertise to enable a full understanding of the materials used in the cathodes, anodes and electrolytes. The projects will involve failure analysis of materials issues associated with all stages of battery development.

Electronic Materials
EAG’s SIMS Technicians, Analysts and Scientists use SIMS instruments to perform dopant and impurity depth profiling, composition and impurity measurements of thin films (metals, dielectrics, SiGe, III-V, and II-VI materials), ultra-high depth resolution profiling of shallow implants and ultra-thin films, bulk analyses including B, C, O and N in Si and high-precision matching of process tools such as ion implanters or epitaxial reactors.

Materials Characterization
The Materials Characterization group is responsible for providing characterization and identification of complex mixtures of materials, including gases, liquids and solids and/or surface analysis of organic and inorganic materials, stains, or residues using techniques such as AFM, FTIR, Nanoindentation, Raman, RBS, ToF-SIMS, XRF, XRD and XPS.

Purity Survey
Our Purity Survey lab located in Syracuse, NY area performs full survey analysis of advanced materials (metals, alloys, graphite, electronic materials, oxides and ceramics), depth specific trace and ultra-trace distribution measurements, traceability of unknowns from limited amount of samples and chemical characterization of particulate materials and engineering coatings. Main techniques used at this lab are GDMS, ICP and RGA.

The technical team at our metallurgy lab develop failure analysis test methods and procedures and investigate the root cause of product failures. Failure analysis & materials testing of metal components, plastics or composite materials has applications across a variety of industries, including aircraft, aerospace, transportation, construction, consumer products, electronics, hostile service environments, energy production, structural components and medical devices.

With locations in the St. Louis, MO area, Analysts and Scientists perform several analytical services such as reverse engineering on a wide variety of pharmaceuticals and consumer products, extractable & leachable testing, polymer analysis, solid oral dosage analysis, particle identification, contamination identification, CMC analytical support, In-vitro biocompatibility testing and custom synthesis using techniques such as LC/MS, GC-MS, HPLC, GC, GPC, IC, ICP-MS, TGA, DSC and Viscosity.
