In Vitro Diagnostics

In vitro diagnostics (IVDs) are tests done on blood or tissue samples taken from the human body. These tests detect diseases or other conditions, and also monitor a person’s overall health to help cure, treat, or prevent diseases. EAG Laboratories is your IVD research and development partner, for evaluating new materials or early stage diagnostics development activities.

In vitro diagnostics may also be used in precision medicine to identify patients likely to benefit from specific treatments or therapies. These in vitro diagnostics include next generation sequencing tests, which scan a person’s DNA to detect genomic variations.

These diagnostic systems typically include many different types of materials and chemistries, from test strips to reagents to plastic packaging to microelectronic components. The materials sciences experts at EAG have extensive experience with many different types of materials, offering insight into product chemistry and interactions. We can help investigate quality issues, such as product instability, cross-contamination or false positives.
