The Battery Show 2025

October 6-9, 2025

We are excited to announce that Eurofins EAG Laboratories will be speaking at The Battery Show in Detroit, MI, October 6-9.
Meet Dr. Daniel Liu on October 8th as he presents Battery Failure Analysis.

Location: Battery Tech Theater (6050)

Time: October 8, 2025, 3:00 – 3:45 PM

Abstract:
Batteries, particularly lithium-ion batteries (LIBs), are essential to modern technology, powering devices from portable electronics to electric vehicles. However, battery failures can cause safety risks, performance issues, and premature device obsolescence. Addressing these challenges necessitates comprehensive battery failure analysis to identify root causes, improve safety, and enhance battery performance and longevity. In this study, a thorough analysis was performed on a swollen lithium-ion battery to reveal the physical, chemical, and electrochemical changes leading to its malfunction. This application note outlines a strategic approach to battery failure analysis, emphasizing the integration of multiple analytical techniques for a deeper understanding of failure mechanisms.
