Home » Eurofins EAG Laboratories Expands Particle Size Analysis Capabilities with Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS)
Eurofins EAG announces the addition of Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS) to its suite of Particle Size Analysis services, further strengthening its ability to characterize materials across nanometer to micrometer scale. This new capability provides clients with high-sensitivity, rapid measurement of particle size distributions for colloidal systems, nanoparticles, and complex fluids.
DLS complements EAG’s existing particle characterization techniques by offering precise measurement of hydrodynamic particle size in latex, enabling customers to better understand stability, aggregation behavior, and dispersion quality in a wide range of materials. The technique is particularly valuable for applications in semiconductors, advanced materials, pharmaceuticals, nanotechnology, and chemical formulations.
Dynamic Light Scattering measures fluctuations in scattered light intensity caused by the Brownian motion of particles in a fluid. By analyzing these fluctuations, DLS determines the hydrodynamic diameter of particles with exceptional sensitivity, typically in the range of a few nanometers up to several microns.
With this addition, EAG enables customers to:
EAG’s comprehensive Particle Size Analysis portfolio now integrates DLS alongside established methods such as laser diffraction, electron microscopy, and other advanced imaging and analytical techniques. This multi-technique approach allows researchers and engineers to correlate results across measurement methods, ensuring a complete and reliable understanding of particle systems.
